Down Syndrome Adoptions on the Rise

Almost 200 families are on a waiting list to adopt a child with Down syndrome in the United States, a reflection primarily of the efforts of activist parents who are using the Web to connect babies and prospective parents. The Washington Post article adds that, though information mothers currently get is often "incomplete, inaccurate or offensive", new Federal legislation should enhance the grassroots effort bring Down children into loving homes.
