Is there a connection between Restless Legs Syndrome and Frequent Urination?

I am a 43 year old woman. I have had what I assume is Restless Legs Syndrome for many years. However, it has gotten a lot worse since I quit smoking 9 weeks ago. I cannot sit or lie down for more than a few minutes without having to shake my legs. My doctor prescribed the medication for me (can't remember the name). All it does is knock me out for about 3 hours, then I'm wide awake with restless legs again. I also have to urinate frequently, on an average about 2x an hour. I rarely drink caffeine and I do not take diuretics. I drink water during the day, but stop about 3 hours before I go to bed. I have been getting up to urinate about 1x per hour every night. I cannot sleep because when I have to urinate, my legs drive me absolutely crazy. Has anyone else had any kind of experience with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
