Skipped my period using BC and one week after skipping it I have had brown discharge, is this normal or should I see a doc?

I skipped my period using my birth control pill. It didn't come for the week but the next week I started to notice a brown discharge. It has lasted for a few days now. What should I do. I've read to wait till your next period and let your body reset? But I'm worried.
